4 months

as of 10.24.10 we have ourselves a 4 month old.

weight: 16 3/4 lbs
height: 29 inches
sleeps: new record of 8 hours straight ( two nights in a row!)
plays: in the excersaucer, or as we like to call it, the "office". is enjoying tummy time more by looking at himself in the mirror & talking to his raggedy andy doll. and when all else fails, rolling onto his back.
wears: size 3 diaper, 6-9 clothes (and even some of those are to short!)
news: he might be teething. he has had the "symptoms" for a couple weeks now. including his first runny nose.

over the weekend

we survived the car trip! not only did we survive, we thrived. bentley could not have been better! activities included car seat toys, the pacifier (which is a once in a blue moon occurrence), reading books, & when he thought he was about out of options...i got out my laptop & he watched Peanuts cartoons for 20 minutes! it was beyond cute. and to top it all off...he slept for the rest of the time! what a guy.

 once we got to grandmas, it was a breeze. bentley loved hanging out! he even loved sleeping! on saturday morning, he woke up at 6:15, ate, went back to sleep.....he woke up again (i assumed it was about 8:15) so we stumbled downstairs to change his diaper...i was surprised kathy wasn't sleeping in, oh wait. it was 11:15! so we had a nice, relaxing saturday.

bentley loved sitting & talking to grandma. to bad i couldn't capture his hilarious smiles he was giving her!

and this is what the ride home looked like! we had a great time while in atkinson (shawn & i even tossed the football around for a while). and on monday, i even got everything put away (including the giant box of baby clothes we brought home). hurray for a successful road trip with a 3 month old!

the sunshine.
the exercise.
the variation in the days activity.
the fresh air.
the bumps.
the tags on the stroller (very interesting to look at when you are riding).

what we don't like about walks:
the garter snakes.

so this is what you do all day...

shawn came home early the other day to me laying on the floor playing with bentley. so this is what you do all day. i guess it depends on the day. but usually, yes. we play, we read books, we walk around. he naps...sometimes i do too. or i will bustle around to clean, bake, do laundry, make the b....whoops! baby woke up. back to playing. you just never know. my new motto is, there is always tomorrow. sometimes things just don't get done. (i am trying to make sure i at least shower while he is asleep...learned my lesson there. i have never done my makeup in the car as much as i do now! don't worry, i'm not the driver.) by the time friday rolls around i try to have accomplished what most people accomplish in a day or two. it takes us all week. so here is to a new week! and more tomorrow to get "it" (whatever that may be) all done.

bathtime.

bentleys new favorite activity is bathtime! just last night, he was tired & crabby...so i put him in the bath & he instantly stopped crying & just mellowed out. {don't mind the pink baby tub. i should have known we would have a boy since we were given some free baby supplies...that were pink.}

bentley's first rodeo.

a few weeks ago we were in Atkinson, NE for a week. One of the nights we were there, we drove down to Burwell for the rodeo! it was really great. i have been to a lot of rodeos...and this might have been my favorite! Bentley did great, sleeping almost the whole time!
