13 November 2012

thankfulness.

november is the month of thankfulness.
it's all over the place.
and to be honest, i haven't been feeling as thankful as i should.
i've been rolling my eyes.
or thinking about what i am not thankful for.

but then i read a quote saying how it is so important to focus on what you ARE thankful for, and stop focusing on what you aren't, then those things will slowly fade. (OBVIOUS, i know. but sometimes you just need a reminder!)

so i've been trying to recenter.
refocus.
reevaluate.

i want to FULLY enjoy these days with my child,
evenings spent at home with my husband,
the holidays spent with family.
i want to be able to recite one of my FAVORITE verses with joy in my heart.

Psalms 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever.
His faithfulness continues through all generations.

so here are a few things from this month that i am choosing to focus on to help cultivate a thankful heart!
6 years ago we were engaged...

chick-fil-a has opened 15 minutes from our house!

the lord worked a miracle & to sum it up-- we exchanged our old broken car for a better one!

thankful for good friends!

happy birthday, grandpa phil!

thankful to vote.

getting out into the sunshine & fresh air. "hellooo in there"

"mama come down the slide with me! this is fun! you are a big girl!"

thankful for glimpses of his sweet heart

my workout buddy got hot & had to take a tv break.

thankful for a special treat!

basketball roadtrip!

a good start to our season!

a fun hotel to stay in!

he had been waiting for this moment ALL day!

classic checking out the vending machine after swim time.

thankful for sweet basketball girls to play with my boy
 are there things that you are especially thankful for this month? or even just today?

I like this post a lot!
I think the biggest thing I am truly thankful for right now is knowing that when we follow the Lord, he in turn protects, provides and guides! I LOVE that. It helps me not to be anxious or worry!
And of course chick fil a right by our house, too :)
