first day of student teaching.

well, i made it through the first day! there weren't any kids, so i guess it really hasn't even started yet---but i still get nervous about what to wear (i'll come back to that subject), where to park, what room to go in (even though i already know), etc. but i got into the building fine, found my teacher & we had a great time together! we just had a few meetings & worked on getting the classroom ready for the kiddos (her word).  ok, back to my outfit---after carefully planning  just the right thing to wear (a pair of light blue w/ white pin-stripe capris, with a white v-neck shirt & yellow sandals) it all back-fired on me.  this morning, as  i was getting ready (brace yourself, this is an embarrassing story) i couldn't get the zipper to stay up so i (since i didn't have time to pick something else out) used a small safety pin to hold the zipper up. problem solved! not. so at school, mid-morning, i use the restroom. zipping up, i PULL THE ZIPPER RIGHT OFF! oooops! now what? well, i do my best with the safety pin, & spend the rest of the day tugging at my shirt to try & cover the zipper area. wow. not ideal, but i made it through.

well, i'm off to throw these capris away...and find an even cuter outfit for tomorrow :)

You are too funny! Great story and I know your next outfit will be zipper stress free:)

this is an awesome story, but i want to read your teacher's blog...the story of her student- teacher who apparently chose to come to the first day of school in zipperless pants and then kept pulling her shirt down over it thinking everyone was too stupid to notice! "it's gonna be a long year" (probably your teacher's words, not mine.)
