merry (early) christmas! family is starting to arrive today...and will continue to through christmas day. we are excited to host multiple family members, see cousins, & enjoy family time with everyone!hopefully we will get to see you at some point. i will be back, probably not until the new year, to update you on all of our "most wonderful time of the year" happenings.

we....
played in the snow!

 made a snowball.

 scarf + messy hair. oh my.

 looked at the christmas lights. (he loves to do this!)

 decorated the tree + the house! we moved the tubs onto the couch after two ornaments were smashed...next thing we know, the couch is not high enough!

 got out our new fisher price nativity set! it is so awesome!

 lived on the wild side. step stool ON the ottoman!

made a secret christmas project that included pictures of this sweet girl! (i just couldn't resist sharing. isn't she so cute?!)

we also had some basketball games ( and two wins i might add!), two christmas parties (i took magic bars. i will share the recipe because they are incredibly easy + super delish!),got a massage, i baked a cheesecake for a church event, (STRESSFUL! but it turned out just fine), got some quality christmas shopping done, started a diy christmas gift (which i hope to share if it turns out!), and watched bentley perfect half of the actions to away in a manger.

2nd annual.

yesterday was the 2nd annual tree decorating at grandmothers! last year, we went over to help decorate, drink some coffe & eat some doughnuts. it was so fun, that we decided even though we don't have a tree to decorate monthly, there are always doughnuts & coffee! i think we (my aunts included) got together every month except november this past year! what a great tradition.

today, it is snowing! like mad. we will pretend we are snowed in. shawns basketball game (road trip 2+ hours away) got canceled which is great! we have christmas decorations to put up & falling snow makes that activity perfect for a saturday at home.

we went on TWO snowy slight flurries/cold walks today.
bentleys request.
we also had an HOUR long fight to take a nap because he wanted to be out on another walk.
he fell asleep sitting up on my lap (because he was refusing to lay on the pillow).
we were so busy with our walks/fighting naps that we didn't make very much progress with the christmas decorations. (i did finish up a birthday surprise to send to my niece, while watching an affair to remember. the last scene makes me tear up every time!)
bentley has dug out the jingle bell chicken that does the chicken dance (last year he was terrified of it, this year he may not let it leave his side).
i'll have to record him playing with it. to cute.

this year, we went to the prairie pine plantation to pick out our perfect christmas tree. in years past, we have bought our tree from a store, but this year we were excited to be able to cut our own tree down (not personally, there is a guy who does it for you.)
