hello.

this is a post to say...I will post more soon! summer is flying by & we had a little hitch by my phone falling in the cooler while leaving the beach. and with it went my harvest pictures, Bentley's 4th birthday pictures, Charley's 2 month pictures, & the pictures I had taken of our first visit to the beach. but the show must go on & I have collected pictures from my sisters from our trip to South Carolina & I will pull some from Instagram to document all of our 2014 summer properly. we are in Atkinson right now while Shawn does basketball camp at Camp Witness. so while the boys are asleep & I have my coffee. a sorting through pictures I go!

not the title you expected to read....
before i make the announcement of our sweet baby (spoiler: HE is born) i wanted to quick post what i meant to post before the baby was born, but i just didn't feel like it at the time.
but now, baby sleeping on my lap, i want to get things in order here on the blog.
bonus, once i get all these posted, birth story & pictures are up next on the docket!

40 weeks 4 days. what i posted on instagram: "so I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, his eye is on the sparrow & he watches over me. midwife & chiropractor today"

41 weeks 3 days. a perfectly cool & rainy day...and labor was starting.

shawn stayed home & made us a big breakfast.

before baby arrives...

hello!
i've been wanting to update on these days before baby arrives, and today is the day where there is time & energy!
we are 3 days over due date...and feeling good! of course, you always hope baby comes a few days early, so i have now been expecting baby to come any day now for quite some time. but these days of being over due have been fun!
relaxing, slow, keeping things tidy.

so here are a few highlights from the last few weeks....

watching caroline cheer for the very last time! we get at least another year with elsie who made the 2014/2015 squad!

Family Life-weekend to remember conference in lincoln! it was SO great & we loved it & will defiantly make it a priority to go again.

they give you all of saturday evening for a date night! and this was our first night away from Bentley. and of course, he loved his slumber party with his grandma & aunts & uncle joe.

but boy was i glad to have him back! and yes, he cried. WHEN WE PICKED HIM UP!

first wednesday not working at the cafe & i had an impromptu lunch date at andreas! it was the funnest day.

AND we rented Frozen! which has now turned into our favorite movie...thank you Shawn for surprising me with my own copy for my birthday!

ah yes, the day i realized i look just like the Grinch.

my birthday! it really was a great day! yay for 29!

what i posted with this picture on instagram "the day after my birthday & the day was filled with so many lovely things in the middle, but i want to remember how it began & ended. first thing my mop top boy jumping out of bed yelling IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!! & going to bed saying "oh wait mom, we never sang that song!" so he sang me happy birthday in the dark. (and yes then I cried)

TODAY.  i couldn't sleep & i had a free drink on my starbucks card, so really this was my only option. leave the guys sleeping & go for a little drive.

happy spring!

it is now officially springtime!
this means we are getting really close to baby time (at least, that is what the calendar says. i still don't quite believe it myself.)
we have a little stack of diapers, some clean clothes, & a moses basket with a clean white sheet on it.
no cupboard i open is safe from a good wipe down & purging.
bentley is LOVING the few nice days we have had & always checks out the window to see if "the trees are moving" that is a good indicator on if we want to go outside or not. 

backing it all the way back to march 1. the last weekend of our basketball season. out to breakfast with shawns parents who came in town for the regional tournament.

wrapping up the weekend with a bath at jared & kerris (with Jed) and a bowl of ice cream.

march 13--one month before the due date & this is what arrived on our doorstep!

turned in my 2 weeks notice at the cafe (haha!)  almost completed 36 weeks!
