pregnancy photo shoot
while we were in kansas for our cousins wedding, my sister-in-law took some fabulous pictures of my growing belly. i'm so thankful we got the chance to do this. who knows if a second pregnancy will get documented in the same fashion, so i am glad to have pictures of my first experience with pregnancy. the funny thing about prego pics is that soon enough, they will not be relevant at all. not be able to used for the christmas card, facebook profile, etc. oh, how things are changing.
thank you, lindsey. your time, effort, & talent are much appreciated. xoxo
i did the cutest load of laundry today. all baby things.

25 May 2010
1 month from today
{can you see my little belly button poking through?}
june 25.
my due date.
since i keep forgetting to upload most recent belly shots...i did some very creative snaps with a mirror + photo booth. it was actually quite the task for my brain this morning. so, you're welcome.
i'm not quite ready for baby to come yet.
i still can't wrap my mind around the fact that whatever is making my belly jump around is actually MY very own, tiny baby.
i'm coming to terms with the fact that we just can't grasp the reality of it all, and that is ok.
we are coming up on 36 weeks...which means we go to the doctor every week to check progression. baby is clear to come whenever it wants! i hope babe doesn't choose while we are camping for Memorial Day or while we are 7 hours from home for a wedding...any other time would be great.
{good morning!}

just to let you know...
-we have yet to hook up the wireless internet at our house. hence the lack of blogging (i love a good scapegoat).
-i am 34/35 weeks...and i didn't really know i was pregnant until now. actually, i still don't completely process it...i'm just feeling the effects on my body & bladder.
*i've never been more thirsty
*i wake up every 2 hours (pretty much on the dot) to go to the bathroom
*my right ankle is swollen (as are my fingers...no rings.)
*my feet are so tight!
*baby is getting squished & not happy about it. kicking & punching the whole way.
sidenote: i do have pictures of this growing belly, but no camera cord with me. will try & post those asap.
-we are in a birthing class & have been learning really helpful information plus we got to tour the labor/delivery area of the hospital. it made everything seem a little bit more real. only a little bit.
on to more exciting topics...we should be able to hit the pool this weekend! i have been dreaming of this moment since...February. Also, Memorial Day is literally around the corner! we will be camping with the family. what will you be doing?
joe is coming over tonight. i might go wild & make mac n' cheese + hotdogs. i love thursdays because i have fridays off. so happy thursday/weekend! go get some sunshine.

28 weeks
my non-professional sister-in-law took this. isn't it so cute?
i have now experienced...
people look at me, smiling, and then staring at my belly. i can still see you!
sitting down to put my shoes on. mr. rodgers style. (this song has been stuck in my head ever since i identified how i put my shoes on. for a laugh, i will even toss my shoe sometimes.)
having to scoot forward to get out of a chair.
shirts that don't fit.
baby having hiccups.

WANTED: a pair of feet.
just this week i seem to have lost my feet. i could use help finding them. size 10, cute green toenails, a pencil lead spot in the heal of my right foot.

08 February 2010
this guy entered the world at 32 weeks.
he is the son of my cousin, dean.
my first best friend.
i love this baby already because i know he will be my baby's best friend.
they will take baths together.
and sleep in the same twin bed.
with sesame street sheets.
go to the pool.
read comics together.
shoot bb guns together.
sneak candy together.
and sometimes, their they will let their little sisters tag along.
they will laugh so hard that juice comes out their nose.
and use the video camera to record the "news" & commercials.
he will probably make fun of my baby.
but my baby will love him anyway.
plus my baby will always be able to sit on him to shut him up.
they will play basketball together.
they will go to vbs together.
their other friends won't understand how they are so close.
but they will be.
forever.
26 January 2010
this is my new little friend. if you recall, a while ago i was complaining talking about my current nanny job & how it wasn't quite the fit i was looking for. well, God decided it was best for all if he drop another family into my lap. these people with a 10 month old baby girl. so far, so fabulous! i really feel that this family is a better fit...plus who doesn't like hanging out with a chubby little baby all day! it will be good practice too.
my mother-in-law came across some maternity clothes this weekend (from a girl she knew) so i picked up quite the selection of bottoms! capris, shorts...i'm set! shawn was very disturbed by the elastic waist....i, on the other hand, thought they looked fabulous.
i think i can feel the baby move! at night (oh no, not a good sign). it is pretty exciting though! apparently now, in the 19th week, little baby beans can hear my voice! i'll have to make sure i'm saying nice things. nicknames so far (assigned by my sisters) for the baby are kj (kami junior. i know. eye roll, eye roll), rugsie (short for rugrat because that seems very cruel), shawn only refers to baby as junior, and in my head it is baby beans.
the feeling good streak is also continuing! yay! i also am getting my taste back for coffee...don't worry, it is almost always decaf. so anyone who wants to bring me a mocha is welcome. and maybe throw in a muffin. baby is hungry.
17 January 2010
good morning starshine, the earth says hello!
well. here it is. we're going to have a baby! i have been trying to figure out the perfect way to post this for the last....well....it's been a while. since becoming pregnant i feel like a thought that is commonly in my head is 'i just hate everything'. and i don't mean it in a rude way, but smells, foods, drinks, even the sight of my blog just made me sick. but i am in my 18th week and starting to even out on the hormone level thing.
things to note from the previous weeks:
i never threw up.
i do gag. a lot.
i hated everything that i had already had. (does this make sense? sounds horrible, right? well you are right. if i had eaten pizza...never again. mcdonalds? puke. orange juice? how dare you even offer it.)
i was so tired i really didn't know it was humanly possible. my life consisted of when i could go back to bed. or even just close my eyes in a long blink.
i'm really thirsty in the morning.
i get up to pee once every night ( i feel like moms all over the world are laughing an evil just-you-wait laugh. i know. i've heard it gets worse.)
if i want something. i want it. hence the 8 consecutive mini-powdered doughnuts i ate.
i am super thankful to not have the taste for coffee or pop! i was worried. but baby doesn't want it.
i also didn't have a sweet tooth until a week or two ago. don't worry. it's back.
my jeans don't fit. but i'm not big enough to get maternity jeans. i wear sweats.
i'm already hotter than i used to be. just wait till june, anna.
my stomach sticks out a little. but only enough for people to think i've gained holiday weight.
my body is also changing in ways i am not complaining about. ehhem.
my stomach has calmed down. it always used to gurgle.
i don't eat large meals. but i eat about 8 times a day. or at least want to.
we aren't finding out the sex.
which means we also aren't telling the name.
but don't get too worked up, we don't have a boys name set yet.
thanks for checking back here. i'm going to be better. i promise. especially since i don't hate everything as much anymore.
